Apple Raisin French Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Crisp Apple Reàl
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Beans from 1/2 vanilla bean pod
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8 slices brioche or Texas toast
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, plus more for frying
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 Tablespoon golden raisins

Directions

  1. Mix eggs, cream, Crisp Apple Reàl, vanilla beans, and spices thoroughly. Soak bread in mixture for 3 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add apples and raisins, and cook for 5 minutes. Turn heat off and add Crisp Apple Reàl.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 Tablespoon butter and cook soaked bread until golden brown on each side.
  4. Serve individually or family-style on a platter, topped with Crisp Apple Reàl raisin mixture.
